“La Jeunesse des Morts” – Birds on a Wire

À l’occasion du centenaire de l’armistice, l’initiative New European Songbook propose neuf chansons sur le thème de la guerre et de la paix. Construit autour du texte “La jeunesse des morts” d’Anna Noailles, le duo Birds on a Wire met en musique une jeunesse sacrifiée.

Moriarty at Shakespeare & Company

Moriarty is a musical collective made up of five artists of French, American, Swiss and Vietnamese origin. The members were mainly born in France to American parents. The group was named Moriarty in reference to Dean Moriarty, the hero of On the Road by Jack Kerouac.

Initially, the group consisted of eight members: singer Charlène Dupuy, drummer Médéric de Vanssay, and saxophonist Davide Woods have since left the group. Rosemary Standley joined in 1999. Moriarty went from performing traditional blues to rock’n’roll. Successive departures from the group reduced them to five members (Rosemary, Arthur, Thomas, Charles and Stephan), and forced them to play acoustically.

Avignon 2019: Rosemary Standley, from Moriarty, queen of the festival

In the beautiful show inspired by Lewis Carroll to Macha Makeïeff, she is the voice. The one that guides all the others. The singer of the Moriarty group is also a little actress, a nasty queen of hearts wrapped in a red coat. She tells “Télérama” how easy it is to navigate the whimsical and crazy world of the nineteenth-century English writer..
