These distinctive, single-source cheeses were chosen by Whole Foods Market’s global cheese buyer, Cathy Strange, with help from the company’s American Cheese Society’ Certified Cheese Professionals. These experts have been certified by the American Cheese Society for cheese storage and handling, nutrition, distribution, raw materials, the ripening process, the making process, and on categories and types of cheeses.

“Whether folks are putting together an elegant cheese board, hosting a brunch, or craving a nibble while curling up with a good book, these 12 selections will make delicious additions to any holiday tradition,” Strange said. “We’re thrilled to offer these exciting cheeses at a great value, so customers can enjoy these special items while stretching their dollar.”

Dardenne brothers: “We felt the rhythm of the film was wrong”

“There is an American photographer who, every year, took portraits of his wife and her sisters,” Luc Dardenne tells me. “As they get older in the photographs they huddle together more. They become physically closer. They hold on to each other more.”So Luc and his brother Jean-Pierre have come together in this fashion? The Gabriel Yared story from humble beginnings to a Hollywood ending

The celebrated French-Lebanese film composer was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 13th Dubai International Film Festival on December 7.

Gabriel Yared begins every day the same way. He gets up, and reaches for a Bach score, burying his head in the baroque master’s music.

“Why do I do this? I put a ceiling of perfection and beauty over my day, and every day is the same to me – trying to reach beauty,” says the celebrated French-Lebanese film composer, who was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 13th Dubai International Film Festival on December 7.

“But I still have a lot to learn. I’m very happy with an award, but it won’t change my doubts. I’m always doubting myself.”
